Red Lake & Steven's Peak

Updated: Jan 18, 2019

Red Lake Peak and Steven's Peak are two of our favorite backcountry ski spots. They always deliver the goods and we've done them enough times that they're starting to feel like home. This most recent trip was our first attempt at connecting the two ski descents (and ascents... you gotta work for it) in a day. It was a truly memorable day of 2,600 feet of climbing up and 3,800 feet of fresh turns down. Once we made it to the road our only concern was relying on the kindness of a stranger to get us back to our car at the end of the day, which hasn't failed us yet!

We approached the summit from the ridge this time to see where it led us.

We transitioned to make our ski descent down Red Lake Peak to Crater lake. Once we reached Crater Lake we decided to skin back up for more, this time on Steven's Peak!
